In the middle of the Saudi Arabian capital Riyadh, the speciality restaurant Elements recently opened its doors in the renowned Four Seasons Hotel. The restaurant offers diners an innovative multi-buffet concept: dishes from China, Japan, India and the Middle East ensure the dining experience is one of international excellence. Top chefs prepare the dishes at "cooking islands" directly in the dining area. So diners can see the credenza on which their dishes are prepared and enjoy taking part in this interactive dining experience – unique in Riyadh. With exclusive designs and a colour scheme with an oriental feel, Elements entices its visitors into a world of fascinating aromas, exotic delicacies and an atmosphere of indulgence. The restaurant was looking for a special solution for the lighting of the impressive antipasti bar: the rounded shape of the buffet needed to be emphasised by the lighting, and the dishes needed to be presented in a sophisticated way. The lighting also had to be integrated skilfully into the circular ceiling design above the buffet. So BRUCK constructed a representative chandelier design from a VIA ring and 14 Star Clareo spotlights as accent lighting for the buffet. Elegant, classy and delicate – these are the features of the VIA system from BRUCK, one which became a classic design long ago. The minimalist shape offers a modern and exciting interpretation of the classic chandelier, the accent and room lights are combined and the architecture and arrangement of the room is elegantly understated. The chandelier, measuring approximately three metres in diameter, consists of four curved VIA track joined by connectors. They are hung with thin, barely visible, steel cables. The 18 mm-wide and 10 mm-high tracks were fitted with fourteen Star Clareo spotlights in chrome. To reduce the glare, the lamps were fitted with chrome "Mini" glare reduction rings. The brilliant, accentuated light from the halogen lamps of the Star Clareo spotlights allow the lovingly and artistically presented dishes to shine resplendently. Thus BRUCK succeeded in bringing to life the basic principle at the Elements, that "the eye is your dining companion".
